Interestingly, adding markdown code has changed the color of text for any post that has markdown enabled.

Yeah the markdown text element gets its colour from tal_custom.css, --tal-text-main instead of content.css like it should

There's no way to do that on mobile.
It works in chrome though (possibly because I never visited the site there), just not in Vivaldi (which I normally use and is also chromium)
