Always flipflopped on how this would even work, but apparently I now have a specific player that wants to use it on occasion for flair so I guess I'm being forced into finishing it. So let's do it!

So here's the idea. I'm going to keep this really simple.

Choose one. Grazes are meaningless.

  • Armor rip: Rip off a chunk of the person's armor. Shred: 1
  • Damage strike: Do one damage at AP 0.
  • Prone strike: Knock an enemy down. If they're already knocked down, stun them for an action.
  • Knockback strike: Move an enemy one tile in any direction.
  • Grapple: Enemy forced to roll their athletics against yours at the start of their turn. If failed, they remain grappled and spend their turn immobile with a -2 penalty to all attacks

If you get an epic success, you can move your character two tiles at any point during the remainder of your turn.


Is there any way to make a useful unarmed character? Probably not. But I don't think that's an issue. REKT is about gear. If you don't have gear, you should probably be working on finding some.

Whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.

Given the setting of REKT i'll admit that I also don't really see how unarmed could be implemented in a sensible way.
Well, if it is about damage, that is...

From your list I pretty much only see the last three points -Knockdown, Knockback, Restrain- as immersive and realistic.

Unless your character is a literal beast, ripping armor off of a suit does not sound possible.
And damage is...well, it also sounds kinda nonsensical, unless applied in some kind of martial arts, imo.

Straight up brawling does not really sound like REKT, at least to me.

Though I can see it in a controlling capacity, like the above listed actions, I am hesitant to claim that it would (should?) find use outside of edge cases or flair-actions...
